Court costs should be a concern for services requiring litigation. Louisiana law allows court costs and services fees to be set by clerks of court, sheriffs, and parish authorities. Louisiana is a “pay as you go” system where a charge is incurred for each action taken. From a creditor perspective, costs are a factor that should be considered prior to the filing of litigation, as they may be unreasonable for the relief sought.
